What are alternatives for tobacco when you quit smoking?

The answer to this question

The answer to this question depends on what you mean by “alternatives.” If you mean nicotine alternatives, these include all the nicotine replacement drugs, including the patch, lozenge, gum and inhalers, as well as several drugs used to help curb cravings. These replace the nicotine in your system while you quit, staving off withdrawal symptoms.

There are also herbal smoking blends that some use as a tobacco alternative. These include herbs like cloves, mint, lemongrass and cinnamon, as well as some lesser known varieties. While these herbs do not have the addictive nicotine in them, they do have other chemicals that have not been studied like tobacco. Also keep in mind when you burn anything you get some toxic chemicals, including carbon monoxide. If you intentionally inhale any type of smoke you are doing detriment to your lungs, these herbal cigarettes can cause lung cancer similar to traditional cigarettes.
