first, before I can ask my question, my question is, why are questions available spaces so short?

second why when support sites

second why when support sites like this in the spectrum of "anti" whatever, you only give one sided truths? what I mean to say is, I quit smoking over two months ago and I feel like shit. You talk about the first few days withdrawals and few weeks then all the sudden everything is just peachy keen. Then all of the sudden you can run a marathon and be an astronaut. Its just not the truth. I want to know why I feel like crap how long I might feel like this and what is causing it. All I can find is that each person is different. What else I want to know is what conclusive evidence do you have that if hypothetically I had cancer, whether or not quitting smoking would be too great a toll on my health. Don't you feel like you could be ending some peoples lives early based on some sort of crusade you have against smoking? Furthermore, if I were suffering from ADHD wouldn't nicotine as a stimulant be a better treatment than doing something that could cause psychosis like ridlin or aderol? Doesn't nicotine help prevent diseases like alzheimer's? These questions that linger in my head and the fact that I feel like crap makes me sit here, while reading your fantasy "better life from not smoking" propaganda and I feel like maybe I shouldn't listen. I need a support system That can tell me how it is and why I'm doing it in the first place.

I mean, even your disclosure

I mean, even your disclosure at the bottom says that there could be possible side effects from changing your lifestyle. that includes but not limited to giving up nicotine.

Giddian, I completely

Giddian, I completely understand how you are feeling. Although all the scientific studies show a decreased risk of disease if you quit smoking, you may be worried you’re upsetting the apple cart by quitting.

When your body detoxifies it’s self, you will have headaches, nausea and a host of other symptoms, especially if you quit cold turkey, and these symptoms can last from weeks to months. This can be very frustrating when you thought you’d feel better when you quit, not worse. You also may now be experiencing some symptoms that smoking masked. That’s why it’s imperative you see a doctor that will listen to you and do testing to find the cause of your symptoms. Even if the testing shows nothing you’ll at least know what it’s not. Also, if you and your doctor determine that the nicotine is benefiting you in some way, he or she may prescribe nicotine replacement therapy, which is better than setting something on fire and intentionally inhaling the smoke.

Sites like these are here to assist you be as healthy as possible. That being said, your doctor should always be your first line of information. He or she knows your health history and you, and this site in no way is designed to replace that relationship. You may want to read my blog, Waiting to Feel Healthy.
