You can also look online for message board style and chat style virtual meeting support groups. There are also groups that provide free phone support in certain states, such as the National Cancer institute. You can reach them at 1-800-QUIT-NOW.
“Freedom,” an online message board style support group is a subsidiary of whyquit.com. There are some special requirements to join, but it is perfect for those willing to go “cold turkey” and start celebrating their new smoke-free lives. To sign up, visit www.ffn.yuku.com. Of course www.supportgroups.com has a special group for those dealing with a smoking addiction and their family members. This message board style support group is great for those that want the convenience of being able to log in whenever they have free time.
