After You Quit
I want to quit but I do not want to take any patches or pills, I really just want a natural way, nothing that will cause wacky side effects, can you give me some ideas?

Congratulations on wanting to
Congratulations on wanting to quit! That is the first step to success. You can try lots of “natural” stop smoking aids, including herbs and hypnosis, but none of these will be very effective unless you first change your habits. In order to do this, you need to know when, where and most importantly why you smoke. When you’ve successfully done this, you can develop a plan of attack. It is easier to start doing something than focus on not smoking, so when you are stressed, for instance, find something to do instead of smoking. Try getting a snack, taking a walk, or reading a book. You might even want to try a new hobby such as crochet.
It should go without saying that you’ll need to talk to your doctor, but if he grabs the prescription pad before you get the word “quit” out of your mouth, you may want a second opinion.
