I am 2 months pregnant and my husband has been a smoker since I have known him. He never smokes around me but when I have asked him to stop he says it is no big deal because he never smokes around me. What should I do?

As a mom, I understand your

As a mom, I understand your concern for the health of your unborn child and the life of his or her father. You could encourage him to quit by appealing to his sensibilities. Try letting him know that the cancer causing chemicals are on his skin and in his clothes. Tell him that you’d like him to be around for the baby’s high school graduation. You can try to force him to quit with ultimatums, but in my experience that just pushes the smoker farther into the habit.

In the end, the decision to quit will be his alone, and until he wants to quit, there is not much you can do. That will happen when he makes something more important than the cigarettes. A great site full of personal testimonies is www.whyquit.com. Here you may find the inspiration he needs to make a change.
