Hi im 14 and i prly should of never started and i really want to quit. I got hooked about a month ago and i ment to stop but i just cant can someone plzz help me. If i go to anyone else illl get in trouble cuz im not at the correct and legal age to smoke?

You may get some flak from

You may get some flak from your parents for a short time, but you will not be in trouble with the law unless you are caught smoking on school grounds or in a similar situation where smoking is not legal. Even then your parents most likely will just get a fine. The people who are in real trouble are the ones who sold you the cigarettes, and you are not responsible for their actions. If you have a friend that is buying them for you, tell them to stop. You may even need to stop hanging with them for a while.

Now is a great time to quit because many kids who start at your age find it difficult to quit when they become an adult. You can do this, but it will probably take some help from family and maybe even your school guidance counselor. Remember, your parents are freaking out because they love you, even though it might not seem like it right then.

Also, find your passion, and I can bet its not smoking. Sign up for a dance class, join a sport, write a novel! The possibilities are endless. Thinking about not smoking won’t help you quit. Concentrating on something else other than smoking will. For more help geared to your needs visit http://www.youthtobaccocessation.org/contact/index.html. Also, make sure you talk to your parents, trusted adult or your school guidance counselor. They are there to help you with exactly this type of problem.
