What health risks are linked to smoking?

Some of the major health

Some of the major health conditions related to smoking are:

  • COPD, including emphysema and chronic bronchitis
  • Cancer, including cancer of the mouth, throat and lungs
  • Cardiovascular Disease, including heart and artery damage

This is by no means an exhaustive list. Every single organ is affected by some of the hundreds of chemicals ingested when you smoke. The good news is that if you quit now, there is a good chance that your health can be improved, and you can possibly reverse some or most of the damage that smoking has caused. Ask your doctor to help you develop a success plan and get started quitting!
