Cigarette Maker Supports Smoker’s Rights with Website Launch
With many states placing more strict regulations on smokers, many cigarette manufacturers are looking for ways to support those who smoke in this current anti-cigarette culture.
To combat the onslaught of laws passed, the Altria Group, owner of Phillip Morris USA, has launched a website geared to protecting the rights of smokers. “Citizens for Tobacco Rights,” has up to date information on tobacco control laws in process, including smoking bans, cigarette taxes and other smoking related legislation. The US based site will focus on laws affecting both state and federal law.
Altria is based in Richmond, Virginia, and they believe that adults that consume cigarettes and other tobacco products should be able to make their voices heard. The website hopes to stop the encroachment of federal and state regulations any further into the smokers territory.
With other brands such as Skoal and Copenhagen in the Altria family, the company has a vested interest in keeping the rights of tobacco users protected.
