Help your body quit smoking

Quitting smoking does not mean you will be stripped of your rationality. It does not mean that you just lie there and allow the signs of smoking withdrawal ravage your body. Don’t just stand there and tremble. Don’t just sit there and fidget.

You have to take an active participation in your rehabilitation. You have to keep yourself busy. This is the only way to ignore your mind. This is the only way to command your mind.

Write down your thoughts, your reasons, your convictions and what you eventually hope to achieve when you have conquered your addiction.

If you feel the craving is starting, write down the benefits that you can get once you stop smoking. List down the good things your being smoke-free can bring to your family and friends.

Keep yourself busy. Do something that takes time and effort. Make a list of all the things you want to do to keep busy and try do it so that you can check one off the list once you have done it.

Get a quitting partner. It is always good to know that you are not alone in your endeavor. If you have a partner, you can always encourage each other and give each other a pat on the back when you are able to hurdle each step towards being smoke free.

Let your buddies know that you are quitting so that they will also help you by not smoking near you or attempting to give you a stick.
