After You Quit
Spotting a Smoker ( even without the stick)
1. Splotchy skin- Smokers appear pale and unhealthy since smoking also affects the blood vessels. Inadequate oxygen levels and consequently inadequate nutrients can get to the skin.
2. Foul-smelling breath – smoking creates havoc inside the mouth and gives it a foul odor called halitosis or bad breath which is always present. That’s why smokers oftentimes chew gum or hard candies to mask the odor.
3. Sickly – smokers can easily be afflicted with conditions affecting the respiratory system such as cough, colds, flu, pneumonia and bronchitis. Asthma attacks occur twice as high in smokers.
4. Stinky hair and clothes – smoke hangs on clothes and hair remain there even after taking a bath. Smoke will always linger in the recesses of a smoker’s home, car, and furniture.
5. Generally poor performance – poor performance in sports leading to more sports- related injuries and poor healing process.
